The Company

Marconi is leader in the italian market and one of the main manufacturer in Europe in the costruction of aluminum furnaces, with a commercial structure of more than 20 commercial representatives around the world and a strong presence in all international markets with more than 1300 active customers.

The company’s building covers a surface of 3000 square meters with more than 30 employees and a specialized technical staff able to suppor our customers all over the world.

History

1946

Birth of company

The Marconi company born in Milan in 1946 as an aluminium foundry and centre of designing and manufacturing of casting moulds.
50’s

Aluminium melting furnaces

The costant search of innovation brings the company in 1950 to the first manufacturing of aluminium melting furnaces; initially only for internal use and then, due to the high quality results, the production started also for other foundries.

Marconi then left the foundry activity to develop and produce aluminium basin furnaces only.

60’s

Crucible furnaces

In those years the major part of foundries’ furnaces were crucible furnaces only, the Marconi started to develop more performing basin furnaces: for that years a forward-looking decision.
70’s

International market developing

The high quality and technology of Marconi furnaces started to be internationally recognized and it brings the Company to reach new markets all over the world.
80’s

Revolutionary technology

With the constant boost of furnaces’ selling, Marconi develops a revolutionary technology to pour and install the refractory structures of the furnace.
90’s

Energy savings

A new era starts with the development of solutions for the energy savings.
2000

New concept of burning furnace

A new concept of burning furnace started in these years when the pursuit of energy savings and pollution reductions became a priority.
2010

Digitalisation

Marconi furnaces started to be equipped with high level electronic devices and all products have been fully digitalized.
2015

New company bulding

The company has been moved to a new and bigger building in order to follow
the constantly growing production.
2019

New furnaces series X4

Development of a new series X4 of furnaces equipped with new softwares and an high energy savings capacity compared to the previous models.
2022

ISO 9001 certification

Obtaining ISO 9001 quality certification
2023

New automated plant

Purchased new automated plant for dosing and mixing of various refractory formulas with mixer capacity of 1000kg at a time.

Today the Marconi S.r.l. is the leading italian manufacturer and one of the main manufacturer in Europe.

Our strenght

Research and improvement

  • N° 2 indipendent chemical laboratories for the study and development of new refractories formulas, directly produced at our plant and poured through an automatic mixing and dosing system;
  • Partnership with Krom Schroder group since the 80’s for the development of burning systems;
  • The study and geometry of the internal refractory chambers, of the furnace’s top covers and of the chimneys have been recognized as innovative and exclusive and have been patented;
  • Our goal is not to follow the development of the modern foundry, but to be able to anticipate its needs and to support it.

Internal training

  • Every member of our staff is directly trained becoming an essential part of our Company;
  • Projecting, softwering, refractory installation, technical assistance and first start up are exclusively managed by personell of Marconi.

Worldwide presence

  • We are present in more than 40 countries with more than 20 offical commercial agents and more than 1300 active costumers;
  • 3 teams of specialized technicians for the field assistance and 3 workstation for remote assistance assure an effective assistance everywhere.

More than 90 series products

  • Able to cover all the needs of the modern foundries;
  • Conscious that the foundries have not all the same needs, we realize fully customized furnaces with designing, softwering and performances according to every customer’s need;
  • Today the Marconi produces more than 130 furnaces per year.

Production plant

  • 3 steel carpentry manufacturers work exclusively for our Company, for a total of other 20 employees.
  • The new production plant covers more than 4000 square meters, with 250 square meters of offices, 3 bridge-cranes of 32 tons each and other 3 bridge-cranes of 4 tons each.
